To be used as a supplement to a balanced diet when sore throat symptoms are present.

Western medicine notes that sore throat symptoms may be present during colds and flu as well as during bacterial infections such as strep sore throat. Strep sore throat and recurrent tonsillitis are sometimes resistant to treatment with common cold and flu formulas. The above combination of herbs is effective at reducing pain and clearing infections from the throat and tonsils. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine upper respiratory infections, if left untreated, can proceed to lower respiratory infections. The use of this formula helps to resolve resistant sore throat symptoms and may be effective at preventing more serious lower respiratory infection.

TCM Indications: Infection with swollen tonsil marked by chills and fever, painful sore throat, body ache, fidgetiness, dry mouth and lips, thirst.

Tongue: Reddened tongue with yellow coating.

Pulse: Rapid and forceful pules.

Current acute care clinical research in China shows that this formula relieves inflammation, reduces fever, stimulates immunity to bacterial and viral infections, and alleviates pain.

Cautions: Avoid spicy-hot foods, dehydrated foods, fried foods, lamb, fish, and alcohol when patient has a sore throat.

Recommended Dosage = 2 to 3 capsules between meals, three times per day: morning, noon and evening.
